Pesteau Farm is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideally located for tourism, sporting events and leisure. Also for great Equestrian Holidays in France, with lots of horse riding available in all disciplines, particularly TREC, jumping, and hacking on site … with full board accommodation or just bed and breakfast. |

HORSE RIDING
• The quality sweet tempered horses and ponies are carefully selected to make them suitable and reliable for all riders, adults or children, for all levels, from beginners to the most experienced riders.
• Over 15 horses and ponies of varying sizes are raised on the farm. All of them are ready to take you on a ride around the paths of the farm with numerous possible riding routes around the Farm for 1 or 2 hours or for longer trekking. Rides are fully escorted throughout our quiet local bridle paths by experienced friendly escort.
• We offer a friendly family atmosphere with all year round riding. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Riding lessons for children over 3 years and adults of any age.
• Various competitions and events are arranged throughout the year.

Horseback Riding Lessons
Pesteau Farm provides horseback riding lessons for people who want to learn to ride and horse training for horses who need an education.
The philosophy of the farm is to teach people to learn to ride in the safest possible manner and discover the world of sweet lovely horses.

TREKKING :
- In the Morvan natural park from 5 days for adults or teenagers (up to 5 persons) in summer.
- Ask us to organise a 2 days or more trekking in Burgundy to discover the lovely landscape and the French gastronomy (Chablis or Irancy wines)

COMPETITIONS

TREC originated in France, but is now gaining popularity throughout Europe, and many competitions are run from beginner to international levels. TREC is designed to increase the knowledge, awareness and enjoyment of the countryside of a diverse range of people.
TREC is a really friendly sport ! The emphasis is on fun! The competition involves the skills and hazards you might encounter out hacking, including map reading, mounting and dismounting, going through water, under low hanging trees, opening gates, crossing bridges and jumping over fallen logs.
-> The “POR” is the 'orienteering on horseback' phase.
-> The CG/CP (control of gaits/paces) is a simple test of how slowly your horse can canter and how quickly it can walk, without breaking into trot from either pace.
-> The PTV is a course of 16 optional obstacles, each with a maximum score of 10 points given for style and effectiveness. There is a large range of obstacles, but they are all designed to test things that would normally be encountered out hacking in the British countryside, and you will not be eliminated if there's something that you can't do. Each obstacle is only 2% of the overall score, so just not being able to jump/mount from the ground is not going to stop you scoring well.
Endurance racing : Endurance riding or racing is a popular equestrian sport which involves traveling long distances. High-level races can be up to 100 miles or even longer and take between 10 to 12 hours

Pesteau is 17 km far from Auxerre.
Plan
• by road : We are 180 km from Paris by the A6 motorway, 20 km from Auxerre (Burgundy) From Paris, take the A6.
• Stay on the A6 until exit n°19 called “Auxerre Nord ”.
• Do follow the initial NEVERS (N151) signs, go on after the “MIGE” windmill, wait until you see ... "Ferme Equestre de PESTEAU " signed.
• by rail from PARIS : The closest station is in AUXERRE ST GERVAIS , on the Paris-DIJON line.
Trains depart from ‘GARE DE LYON’ station in Paris..
